ART & GUILE is delighted to announce the launch of its new 2018 collection during New York Design Week at WantedDesign, Manhattan (May 19-22).
Following their debut presentation at ICFF in 2017, this year’s collection transports the user into ART & GUILE’s lighting utopia — Micro-suede-clad, wooden cones act as ancient stoic guides and acrylic panels are CNC carved to create a mesmerizing LED display.
SENTINEL LAMP
Inspired by a standing, stoic figure, the Sentinel Floor Lamp (available in Small, Medium and Large) can exist as a stand alone light, in addition to working as a grouping of 3 or more. Its geometric wooden form is wrapped in micro-suede, with hand-brushed brass accents giving the piece a symbolic, sacred quality. Spherical globes sit atop the lamp, by the cone’s tip, watching out and leading those behind it.
ANAGLYPH LIGHT
Anaglyph is ART & GUILE’s first piece that plays with ornamentation — With the use of CNC, the studio’s ‘drawing’ in the piece’s acrylic panel creates a glowing line and pattern of light. Exploring the idea of drawing symbols and glyphs, this light will be available as Pendant Light, Wall Sconce, and Floor Lamp.
In addition to these pieces, ART & GUILE will be relaunching their Radial Array Pendant Lights in larger sizes and a new blackened oak and walnut finish.

ART & GUILE is a New York based studio with a passion for exploring the limits of authentic materials and the power of warm light and spirited forms to transform a space.
It was founded in 2016 by designer Chris Boynton and artist Kate Hopkins who draw from their diverse backgrounds in painting, printmaking, product design, 3D modeling, and moving image arts, to produce modern pieces that are considered expressions of warmth and unexpected form.
All of ART & GUILE’s pieces are made-to-order with demanding attention to detail and loving patience in our Long Island City Shop, in collaboration with a small number of local fabricators and craftspeople.
