Lady Dior
was born of a desire to create a bag with a strong identity. Something
instantly recognisable. Iconic. It was first made in the Dior workshops
in 1994, inspired by couture. Elegant, carried in the hand, the new bag
boldly broke with prevailing trends.
Initially known as "Chouchou" ("Favourite"), it was given the name Lady Dior two years later as a tribute to Princess Diana, who fell in love with this unique accessory on a visit to Paris. As soon as it hit the boutiques, Lady Dior was a runaway success. Today the bag is personified by the beautiful and talented Marion Cotillard, the face of Lady Dior since 2008, and its appeal for women is as strong now as it ever was. It has truly become Dior's flagship bag.
