Discover the new Archi Dior collection designed by Victoire de Castellane, the creative force behind Dior jewellery.
This year, Victoire de Castellane is writing a new page of Archi Dior with a jewellery collection inspired by five of Christian Dior’s most emblematic creations: the Bar suit, along with the dresses Diorama, Cocotte, Cyclone and Belgique. These architectural looks are translated into the lexicon of jewellery, continuing the story of dresses becoming jewels.
The Bar en Corolle ring is a reference to the Bar suit of 1947 whose jacket is the most emblematic of the house of Dior, as well as the first line from the New Look, Corolle, whose silhouettes riffed on the delicate form of a flower. And this is just what this jewel expresses, too, with its row of diamonds seeming to cinch its metal folds in the gold version or its gem-set whorls in the all-diamond version. As necklace, bracelet or ring, the Cocotte dress from the spring-summer 1948 collection with its swagged back volume gave rise to asymmetric jewels. Then there's the Cyclone dress from the Ailée line of the autumn-winter 1948 collection in a bracelet with an abundance of diamond pavé ruffles, as the brushed white gold back boasts a natural satin effect set with only a small number of diamonds as in an embroidery-sprinkled fabric.
The Diorama from the spring-summer 1951 collection and its ribbons have inspired Victoire de Castellane to create a precious rippling streamer unfurling to infinity around the neck, ear or wrist. Lastly, the Belgique dress of 1957 is revisited in the Libre Plumetis line, through a bracelet whose diamonds evoke the delicacy of white tulle.
The new Archi Dior jewellery collection contains within its glittering forms the very expression of the creative passion inherent in couture and architecture.
