Whether you are hitting a viewing party or
have a DVR date, get ready for major style-stalking: the stars strut
down the Oscars red carpet on February 28 starting at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.
Gear up with an exclusive look at the sparklers we’re still obsessing
over from last year—every one is a winner.

Cate Blanchett in Tiffany & Co.
When you have a
whopping 900 carats suspended from your neck, you don’t need much else
to make an impact. With 500 carats of blue-green stones and aquamarine
gems capped by diamond pins, this showstopping piece is designed to
resemble the sun reflecting off the water. “The necklace is so stunning
that it worked amazingly well with several dresses,” says Blanchett’s stylist, Elizabeth Stewart, who eventually chose to pair the masterpiece with an understated black column by Maison Margiela. “Cate fell in love with the Tiffany
creation immediately. We considered it with a pink gown and then a
purple one, but in the end, we opted for classic black,” says Stewart.
“The simplicity of the dress allowed the necklace to be the focal
point.”

Keira Knightley in Chanel
Dressed in a bohemian floral Valentino Haute Couture number, with her hair twisted into loose waves, Knightley
went for an outfit that was decidedly anti-Oscars. The actress, who was
six months pregnant with daughter Edie, wanted to feel “free and fun,”
says stylist Leith Clark. In fact, because the dress itself was unique,
Knightley wasn’t really planning on wearing any jewelry at all—until
Clark caught a glimpse of this 18kt rose gold and white gold ring
encrusted with 205 brilliant-cut diamonds, pink sapphires, and carved
pink opals. “The gown appears unstructured and delicate, but this ring
is bold and strong, so it’s quite the opposite,” says Clark. “It almost
looks as if it has superpowers."

Margot Robbie in Van Cleef & Arpels
The presenter banked
the ultimate #TBT with a necklace originally designed for the Duchess of
Windsor more than 70 years ago. “Everyone thought Margot
had cut her blond locks, but she was wearing a fake bob,” says makeup
artist Tyron Machhausen, who helped her primp to accentuate the vintage
Zip Antique Colombine marvel made of an 18kt yellow gold zipper adorned
with diamonds and sapphires. Machhausen coupled the faux chop with a
fiery red-orange kisser.

Kerry Washington in Fred Leighton
When it’s time to weigh her accessories options, Washington
turns to her most trusted— and arguably most adorable— adviser: her
22-month-old daughter. “Isabelle runs the show,” makeup artist Carola
Gonzalez says jokingly. While the tot watched, Gonzalez used pastels to
bring out the hues in the actress’s pink-toned sapphire and diamond
earrings. “We knew that Kerry wanted to wear her hair back, so the
earrings became the centerpiece of the look,” she says. “The stones were
soft, elegant, and regal, just like her.” To play up the pastel tones
of the platinum-set danglers, Gonzalez selected a pale pink pout for
Washington, the global Neutrogena brand ambassador, though Gonzalez had an ulterior motive during the glamming process: “To try to get Kerry to spill some Scandal scoop!”

Julianne Moore in Chopard
Cue the style envy: Not only did Moore snag a best actress statuette for her leading role in Still Alice, but she also wore a dress custom-made by Karl Lagerfeld
for the occasion. “We wanted to strike a balance between her gown and
the jewelry,” says stylist Leslie Fremar. “If she were to win, we wanted
her to be rocking pieces that, years from now, wouldn’t seem dated in
pictures.” Moore found her perfect match for the one-of-a-kind white Chanel Haute Couture
column dress in these pear-shaped diamond dazzlers set in 18kt white
gold. “You can’t appreciate their size from the photos,” says Fremar.
“When you hold them, they take up the entire palm of your hand.”
Lupita Nyong’o in Chopard
How do you pick the perfect accessories when your stunning white Calvin Klein gown is embellished with pearls from top to bottom? If you’re Nyong’o,
you choose classic jewels that complement the dress without competing.
The actress and Oscar winner walked the red carpet clad in Chopard
diamonds, including drop earrings featuring 18 carats of pear-shaped
diamonds and 2.32 carats of rose-cut diamonds set in 18-kt white gold.
She completed the look with a trio of sleek rings from Chopard’s
Copacabana and High Jewelry collections: a cluster of briolette diamonds
totaling 14.7 carats, a 3.57 carat cushion-cut diamond surrounded by
pave diamonds, and a whopping 5.8 carat round cut diamond.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Anna Hu
A dress as bold as Paltrow’s
petal pink, floral-shouldered Ralph & Russo gown deserves jewels
that make a statement just as big. The actress chose one-of-a-kind
earrings from jeweler Anna Hu to complement her look. The dazzlers each
featured two pear-shaped cabochon Rubellites weighing 101 carats and two
pear-shaped Rubellites weighing 23 carats. Surrounding the precious
gems? A blaze of white and yellow gold diamond that inspired the style’s
name: the Fire Phoenix Earrings. To match, Paltrow donned the jewelers
Petales D’Amour ring featuring a rare pigeon blood Burmese ruby.
