For the Plein Soleil 2016 eyewear
collection, CHANEL has conceived two new original stories of light and
shade that pay tribute to two of its most iconic codes: the two-tone and
the chain.
Two-Tone shading
Drawing inspiration from tie-dye motifs, this line revisits the two-tone, a signature of the House. On every pair of optical and sunglasses, colours subtly blend into the acetate, sliding progressively from opaque to transparent. This season, in addition to the black and white, black and beige, black and burgundy duos, grey, blue and green are also combined with black on the rectangular, oval and cat-eye shaped frames, as well as on the extra-large round and square shapes. Light and comfortable, they imbue every lifestyle mode, from the city to the beach, with a daily elegance.

Chain bracelet
The emblematic chain is reinterpreted here as an androgynous bracelet chain. Temples in a matt or shiny ruthenium, silver or gold metal are adorned with an insert engraved with the House name, for a look that’s both masculine and feminine. The gaze is framed with textured acetate, playing with shadow and transparency, in a palette of crystalline and translucent colours: tortoiseshell, fawn, green, blue and grey. The optical frames are available in cat eye or square shapes, while the sunglasses adopt an assumed elegance: retro-round or butterfly.
