Hackett Show at London Collections: Men A/W 14

Feel just a little sorry for the models of the London Collections: Men. As we all stuff our faces throughout the festive season, knowing we have the whole of winter to get into summer shape (and we will definitely go the gym this year) those most handsome of professionally handsome chaps have one of their most important weeks coming up. Now firmly established as an integral date in in the international menswear calendar, LC: M (forgo the colon to the derision of style bloggers the world over) welcomed the best in British and International men's designers at the beginning of this week to present their A/W 14 collections.
We were at British tailoring giant Hackett London's catwalk show on Tuesday in the art deco surroundings of Freemasons' Hall in Covent Garden which was used to create the show's theme of a mid-century tour of Grand European Hotels - complete with stylish bell boys.

Hackett's ever impressive traditional British tailoring was given a youthful edge with coloured beanies teamed with check blazers. Indeed check was the central focus whether it be tartan trousers or Prince of Wales check jackets or shirts. Continuing with the Grand Hotel theme, the models were styled as Gentleman Travellers, with many carrying Hackett 's  stylish luggage.
Non-collection highlights were the great hair and few dapper beards on show, Mr Jeremy Hackett's bowler hat as he made his way on to the catwalk to take the applause and the show's music selection which ended with Talking Heads' Naive Melody - always guaranteed to put a smile on our face in Murdock HQ.
